Karungi Camp, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Yoly Phillips, co-founder of the new Karungi Camp, writes:

Karungi Camp is conveniently situated on the edge of Rubuguri town 15 mins from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s Rushaga Gate, and 30 mins from Nkuringo Gate.

At Karungi, we believe that travel should be an escape from the ordinary and an opportunity to truly connect with the people, places and cultures around us. The camp’s goal is to be a bridge between locals & curious travellers and wild forests & comfortable beds, to provide good food & great conversation, and to make travellers feel at home in a new community whilst discovering their Uganda.

Karungi Camp provides unique accommodations, experiences, and access to a virtually untouched corner of the world – we can’t wait for you to discover it! Karungi has been built, through lots of hard work & cooperation, on our shared values & experiences. We believe strongly in having fun while building community, embracing life while being kind and generous.

We offer accommodation in three self-contained cottages with running hot water & flushing toilets. Two cottages can comfortably sleep 4 people with a double and a queen bed, while the other cottage sleeps 2 with a queen bed.  Pricing is $40 USD for a single, $60 USD for a double $80 USD for a triple $100 USD for a quad.

We also have camping space for approximately 10 tents and 2 self-drive camping cars at $10 per person

GPS co-ordinates are 1 deg 7’28” S + 29 deg 41’4” E
