Health Workers for All

Dr Tamsin Lillie, Director of Health Workers for All, writes:

Health Workers for All supports disadvantaged but bright young people through their healthcare training in Malawi & Uganda.  We pay each students tuition fees and provide other necessary allowances (such as book, equipment and uniform allowance) so each student has everything they need in order to qualify as health workers in their home country. We focus on those who are the most disadvantaged, but also those who are most likely to work in underserved communities. We prioritise young women, orphans, those from rural areas and those with non-professional parents.

Our organisation consists of four programs: Medic to Medic (medical students), REACH (physiotherapy), New Solutions (pharmacists) and Nurturing Nurses (nurses).  We are proud to have supported 5% of all Malawian doctors and to see all our graduates (bar one) working in their home country.  See our most recent YouTube video about our REACH program here.  Please visit our website www.healthworkersforall.org.uk for more information about our programs and how you can get involved.”
