Car Rental with camping gear from Road Trip Uganda

Laura van Dijk od Road Trip Uganda writes:

“Kindly let me take this opportunity to inform you about Road Trip Uganda: the most adventurous, fun and affordable way to explore Uganda. We are the only company in Uganda offering self-drive car and camp rental, between 50 USD – 65 USD / day. For this you drive a Toyota Rav4.

We believe that exploring Uganda is the most fun at your own pace. Instead of fully organized tours at rather expensive lodges where everything is arranged for you, we offer a low-budget option for the independent and adventurous traveller. There is not much to offer for this group of people, apart from travelling with public transport. Our rates are competitively priced compared to other car rental companies in Kampala. The vehicle is comprehensive insured and comes with all the camping gear you need (tent, mattresses, sleeping bag, chairs, stove, cooking set and utensils, cooling box, headlights, roadmap ánd Bradt guide, where we encourage you to  write down comments and tips for your fellow travellers who will use the 4wd!). Crossing the border to neighbouring countries is possible, and we can arrange pick up and drop services, a driver or suggest itineraries and places to stay/camp.

Please visit our website for more information: www.roadtripuganda.com or visit us on facebook.”

Dear Laura! Herewith I would like to point out that we have really enjoyed the car and campinggear during the last 3 weeks of our holiday in Uganda/Rwanda. The camping gear was really good and more than sufficient. The car was a great drive and it was really much fun to drive by ourselves. Everything was perfectly arranged with insurance, taking the car abroad, etc. Last but not least everything for a really good price! We will definitely recommend you by text and mouth to mouth.

    Regards,
    Josine

    Hi,

My girlfriend and I just rented a Rav4 from Roadtrip Uganda. It was an amazing trip. Thank you Laura and Okke (the Dutch owners from the company, really nice people). It is great to drive around in your own 4 wheel drive, drive wherever you want. They say “drive your own adventure!” which is a perfect match. We visited villages, Murchison Falls national park, Mburo national park and used the car to drive to Jinja for rafting. No problems during our trip, perfect car.
You are looking for a car with enough clearance for a big adventure? This is it! Send them a text, call them (+256 (0) 773363012) or send them a mail (info@roadtripuganda.com).
Great people with the best tips you can get.

with the help of roadtrip uganda we explored Uganda in the best possible way. With the help of the very friendly owners Okke and Laura we rented a car for initialy 10 days. After we got out of kampala the real fun started. With al the nescesary campinggear in the car, good suggestions where to go we started a trip of a lifetime. Nothing beats the feeling of riding in your own car through the national parks and
camp in your tent next to the river or lake where the only sounds are the wild animals. The car from roadtrip was very good and very avordable. Also the camping gear was very compleet and the service when we had questions was perfect. Eventualy we rented the car for more than 30 days. So if you want to feel a little like livingstone exploring africa, rent a car and camping gear from roadtrip uganda. Judith and david

We rented a Rav4 from Roadtrip Uganda for 3 weeks in January 2013. We liked our trip so much that we phoned Okke in the office to extend the rent for one week. That gave us the chance to not have to hurry and miss the little thing who are often more precious than the so called big sights. What we enjoyed most was the possibility to stop whenever we wanted, to have time to stay at places you would never be able to see with an organized tour. With the camping equipment (comes with the car) we where sure that we could sleep at any place without reserving rooms. It turned out that we only needed it once. The Toyota RAV4 is amazing, we never had any problem with clearance ore mud. The returning of the car was very fair, the little damage did cost us much less than the $150 that is the maximum you have to pay.

We want to rent it again next year and drive also to Rwanda and Tanzania.
