Various updates

Hello,
we, 4 friends from Belgium, travelled through Uganda with the Bradt-guide of Uganda. It’s a very good guide with excellent practical information and idea’s.
I only have these new information/suggestions:
-it would maybe be interesting to put a good roadmap (that you can take out of the book) of the whole country in the book. We had to buy a separate map of Uganda.
-In Jinja we have done rafting on the river Nile with Nalubale Rafting (www.nalubalerafting.com). I can recommand this organisation to everyone: professional equipment, good safety instruction, good food, price was 120 dollar for whole day (best price of the 3 company’s!) for the rapid 5 program. We also had a very good guide who’s worth mentionning, Charles Luttaya: very professional, talks all the time about not only the river but also about nature, fishing and the impact of the dam that the gouvernement constructs on rafting and wildlife. He used to be a fisherman so he knows wath he’s talking about.
-slept in Mbarara in Accaccia-hotel (http://skybluehotels.com/acacia.html): for 90.000 shillings we could rent a room: to much money for what you get: the hotel is placed in a very noizy place (dogs are barking, chicken,…) so we couldn’t sleep the whole night.
-hiking in Rwenzori mountains: with Rwenzori Trekking Services: very good organisation with a professional and motivated guide (Richard). We’ve stayed in ‘Rwenzori Trekkers’. Nice cheap place to sleep before you climeb the mountain with Karen as the good lady of the hotel.
greetings

Michael
