Coffee Pot Cafe, Kisoro

Hi Phillip, I live in Kisoro, Uganda and wanted to let visitors know that there’s a new cafe open called “Coffee Pot Cafe”, and it’s fantastic! It’s owned and run by a German woman who’s lived in Kisoro since 1976 and she also owns the African Art and Crafts shop right next to the cafe. It’s open from 10am to 7pm Mon-Sat, and serves homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, freshly baked cakes and rolls, hot meals like currys and pastas, as well as cappuccinos, etc. The nice thing is that the prices are competitive with other local cafes in town, so good for backpackers. It’s also set up as an African art gallery… all sorts of masks and hangings on the walls, and she’s got a used book sale/swap as well as a lending library. I’ve been here for a year and a half (I’m a teacher at a local school) and the arrival of this place is pretty exciting so wanted to share. It’s at the “top” of town, on the right hand side under the big tree, two doors up from the UWA office. Seating inside and out with a view of one of the volcanoes and all. Cheers! Heather
