CUCKOOLAND is a new mid-range tented lodge set in a spectacular location on the eastern edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with superb views overlooking the forest. Set in 10 acres of grounds, built almost entirely of locally sourced natural materials, accommodation consists of 4 self-contained, spacious, comfortably furnished double tents, built on wooden platforms and with a thatched roof and large verandah. 6 species of primates including chimpanzees, are regularly seen at the site and almost 200 bird species have so far been recorded.
Pricing
Instead of paying $300-$500 p night as most of the up-market lodges charge in Buhoma, Cuckooland aims to offer comparable facilities for around $100 p person p night full-board and $70 p person p night for bed & breakfast.
Opening & Future Plans
Cuckooland is planned to open from the beginning of April 2011, while construction of a swimming pool and gym is planned for later in the year.

Nous avions reserve pour 2 nuits et nous sommes enfuis au bout d’une nuit!!!Le manager est d’une salete repoussante et la tente aussi.Nous n’avons pas eu d’eau chaude pour la douche qui se trouve a l’exterieur avec un acces tres difficile(alors que sur la pub,il est dit douche dans la tente).La nourriture est immonde et l’acces impossible.15 mn de marche dans une pente meme pas amenagee!!!Une horreur a fuir!!!
The Lodge is most conviniently located for those tracking gorillas in Ruhija (Birukura, Oruzogo and Kyangurilo Gorilla Families). The site is one of the best you can get in Bwindi.
