Green broadbills in Bwindi

A quick one which might be of interest to the twitches.

The African Green Broadbill, one of Bwindi’s 24 Rift Valley Endemics and a must see by all twitcher’s was finally spotted again, last Thursday 16th by Fred Tugaruriwe.

Fred is one of the new up-and coming birders from the Buhoma region. The bird, 11cm in height and one of the most beautiful in colour, had not been seen the past four months.
Fred spotted a pair feeding in a tree on the edge of its normal habitat, that of Mubwindi Swamp in Ruhija.

Since then, twitchers have been viewing this particular pair on a regular basis.
