Rwefuma Safaris, Kasese

I am running a tour company based in Kasese. A number of my clients have told me about your guide book and i have personally read it.
However, there is a gap in the service industry which we need to fill, Rwefuma Safaris is based in Kasese Town but also offers services around the country, we decided to base our selves in Kasese being a mid ponit to the tourist destinations in Western Uganda.
Many of the tourists would love to travel on public transport and then hire a car from the field. We also offer that service for instance if one is going for a seven day hike at the rwenzori then it becomes costly for them to maintain a car for all that long.
Their request was that we list our services on the guide book as that is useful information for them to cost save. Equally some of them want to do a game drive in QENP but cant find 4×4 drive cars locally, which we offer at good rates.Equally those who want to connect to Bwindi and mgahinga via Ishaha some time get stranded so we are there to serve them

We used the services of Rwefuma in December of 2010 for two-day safari in QENP after the trek in Rwenzories. We are very satisfied with the service and personal attention provided by Robert both during the trip as well as in recommending good accommodations in Kasese and providing great assistance during our transfer to Kampala by bus.

I have been living in Kasese for some months and have used Rwefuma Safaris on multiple occasions. Their vehicles are well maintained and reliable, the driver is knowledgeable and sociable. I have recommended this company to others during the duration of my stay and all have been satisfied.

I used the car hire and guiding services of Rwefuma in June 2010 for a combination of culture, national park, and gorilla trekking tour. My daughter, a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer, knew of them and set up our plans. I recommend Rwefuma and I would definitely use them again.

It is essential in this beautiful part of Uganda to have a sturdy vehicle, dependable safe drivers and local knowledge. Rwefuma provided on all of these items. Furthermore, they were flexible and helpful to suggest and provide side trips of great interest. The guide and driver that I had, Benjamin Sunday, was outstanding on all accounts. He was an interesting guide and also an outstanding example of civic dedication through his work with local Uganda community development (when not guiding) and his entrepenuralism toward improved sustainable tourism.

An excellent choice of company for dependability and flexibility to help you have an excellent Ugandan culture and safari tour experience.

I did learn that it is important to clearly arrange payment in all Uganda travel services with local currency or large U.S. bills, as the local banks discount exchanges of smaller bills by up to 25%. I found it best to get local currency from Kampala ATM’s through my U.S. Bank debit card. Their exchange fees and conversion rate was quite reasonable. You need to let the bank know that you will be doing this as they are very careful to protect you from unauthorized activity.

    Hi,
we had our Ruwenzori tour organized by Robert and it was a very good decision.

Robert was patient enough to answer all our questions in perfect english via email and in short time. That was extremely helpful as we organized everyhting from abroad and our schedule was a little tight.

If i’ll ever do a tour to the Ruwenzori again I’ll definitely get back to you!

Robert, thank you again and best regards, Stephan

I had a long and great day in QE2 with Robert in early December, 2013. We saw so many animals so quickly and Robert was pretty good at identifying birds too. II was delighted. We went all over the park and to the Salt Village and craters. He knew the park and the habits of the wildlife very well.

I made the arrangements by phone from Kampala at quite short notice and was impressed that Robert came to my hotel the night before the trip to make sure I was there OK and to confirm the pickup time the next morning.

A very good experience. Thank you Robert.
