We have just been to Uganda. Whilst there we were staying in Mityana for a few days and were hosted by a chap whose family home is in Mityana. He was disappointed to hear the Guide’s description of Mitiyana as “Possbily the most interesting thing about Mityana is its name”. We found that the most interesting thing about Mityana were its lovely friendly inhabitants. We were visiting a school in the area which we had been supporting and the kids and teachers were so welcoming and generous. However, we also went on a trip to see the Tanda Pits which was very interesting and we were shown around by a guide. He also got on our bus with us and took us a few miles further and then on a 10 minute walk to a sacred cave where Kintu and Nambi’s bodies are supposed to lie. The Pits are definitely worth a visit.
