I recently traveled to Uganda and stayed in a very nice new guesthouse in Entebbe. It opened in October 2011, and is run by a collective of women. It is clean, reasonably priced and service is excellent. I am talking about Lake Victoria View Guesthouse. The view is very nice. mail: lakevictoriaviewguesthouse@gmail.com Peter Voorhoeve

In the summer last year I led a fund-raising cycle trip from Entebbe to Kisiizi hospital near Rukungiri.  Your guide book (6th ed) was invaluable in the planning and once we were there. A few comments and suggestions You don’t mention the car ferry and numerous small boats that cross from Entebbe to Lulongo.  We [...]

I would like to the excellent Christian Guest House in Entebbe. It is a very charming place, owned by Dr Semambo and well maintained by the professional and friendly Daniel. An excellent place to begin and to end a journey in Uganda. It is at 56 Church Road, and can be reached on following numbers +256(0)772421469 and [...]

We really enjoyed Uganda. Its eemed a cheerful helpful place and my son really had a chance to play with local children here and enjoy himself. It is certainly harder going in terms of roads and facilities than the Southern part of Kenya, but frankly we didn’t find that an issue and instead relished the [...]

I was happy to have your guidebook accompany me on a recent Uganda trip; I would like to let you know the following: it is virtually impossible to change travellers’ cheques in Uganda; the only place I found was Speke Hotel in Kampala and they took a hefty commission. Best to advise readers to take [...]

My wife & I had a great three week tip to Uganda from October-November, much aided by your excellent Guide.  In an effort to help you maintain its standards, here are our comments on our trip. The most pressing message we have for travellers and tourists is that travellers’ cheques are of more hassle than [...]

Hi, just returned from Uganda having done both CHEX and Gorilla trekking. Both were great but and I know it is sacreligious to say this but the CHEX (Chimpanzee Habituation Experience) at Kibale was the highlight (probobly the best holiday activity I have ever done)- to be with chimps through their entire daily cycle is [...]

Uganda Reptiles Village, Entebbe

Thanks to John Addison of Wild Frontiers for the following: When you meet someone called “Snake“, you may wonder how he got that name and why. Well, Wild Frontiers Uganda has a “Snake”, who works for us as a boat guide on Lake Victoria.  A good young man, he has taken his hobby, of snakes and reptiles, a step further [...]

I was living at and volunteering with a project called the Dewe School of Art. This project is down Lutembe Road, from Kajansi, on the shore of Lake Victoria. I would recommend any of your readers to pay the area a visit. The beach is called Lutembe Beach and is a resort that used to [...]
